Today is Sunday
Today Is Sunday (1990)
This series was re-photographed from a 16mm film that I made with the same title. Today is Sunday (1987) is an abstract narrative that conveys the fleeting sensations and emotions that lie beneath the surface of our social interactions. The photographs condense the temporal experience of the film into an instantaneous moment. Seeing the photographs in an installation with the film has the effect of bringing the frozen images on the page back to life as specters on the screen.
